About Us

The Digital Facility for the Caribbean

Is a regional initiative that supports Caribbean countries in advancing inclusive, human-centered and sustainable digital transformation. Anchored in the development mandate of the United Nations Development Programme, the Facility serves as a platform for collaboration, technical support and knowledge exchange, helping governments and partners strengthen digital capacities, modernize institutions and expand opportunities for people across the region.

We are part of a broader development effort grounded in the mission of UNDP, the United Nations’ lead agency on international development, which works in one hundred seventy countries and territories to help eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. In the Caribbean, this commitment translates into support for digital pathways that can improve public services, foster innovation, strengthen governance and build resilience in the face of social, economic and environmental challenges.

Our identity is shaped by UNDP’s long-standing mandate to promote inclusive institutions, democratic governance, rule of law and sustainable development. The Digital Facility for the Caribbean reflects these principles by working with national and regional stakeholders to ensure that digital transformation is not understood only as technological change, but as a strategic process that can generate public value, reinforce institutional capacity and contribute to more equitable societies.

We are also guided by the founding principles of the United Nations Charter, which call for international cooperation, dignity, equality and peaceful progress among nations. In this spirit, the Facility brings together expertise, partnerships and practical tools to support countries as they navigate the opportunities and risks of the digital era.

As part of UNDP’s development legacy, the Digital Facility for the Caribbean represents a shared commitment to shaping a more connected, inclusive and resilient future for the region. Our role is to accompany countries in turning digital innovation into meaningful development outcomes that respond to local priorities while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
